The PMSA Board recently announced the appointment of EducateCo managing director Vicki Waters to their newly formed Child Protection and Safeguarding Committee.
Vicki joins a group of 10 high profile business professionals appointed to PMSA committees in a clear sign of school governance leadership by the PMSA. The PMSA is the governing body of leading Brisbane schools Somerville House, Clayfield College and Brisbane Boys College, as well as Sunshine Coast Grammar School.
Vicki brings extensive governance and educational leadership experience to her new role. As well as over twenty years’ experience leading top-performing independent schools, she has governance and advisory committee experience with several universities and professional organisations. She is a former NSW Telstra Business Woman of the Year finalist and a winner of the NSW Business Chamber Business Leader of the Year award.
PMSA Chair Morgan Parker said that the recent appointments demonstrate a tangible step-change to the PMSA’s governance capabilities.
“We have undertaken comprehensive governance reform over the past few years and these appointments represent another milestone in our quest to become the industry benchmark,” she said.
“Assembling a diverse and complementary team of high-calibre governance professionals will enable our organisation to prosper at a time when society’s expectations of education institutions have never been higher.”
Morgan said that today’s scale and complexity of independent schools, coupled with a more robust compliance environment in education requires highly skilled leaders in governance roles.
